It is to be recommended not only for the way in which it examines these satipatthana the direct path to realization in meditation in the context of the early discourses and in relation to the traditional interpretations of the Pali commentaries, but also for the way in which it encompasses the observations and interpretations of both modern scholars of Buddhism and teachers of meditation.

Which, for my friends, sadly means “no, you cannot borrow it. The constant channel surfing of the body and mind in all their busy activity. Now I can appreciate pth 3rd and the 4th parts, contemplation of mind and dhammas.
Years ago I read this sutta during a special meditation retreat, and now it seemed that it was for me only a beginner level of understanding, mainly concerned with the first levels of realizatoin of the body, satipatthana the direct path to realization sometimes feeling.
Anyone can easily watch for body sensations, mental activity and reactions, but there are subtle and important things occurring that are part of the natural behavior of the body and mind.
But it is abundantly clear that in both books the author knows what he is talking about. I highly recommend it to all serious buddhist meditators. With a smile, and deep understanding of what I was going through, Ron cheered me through some of my darkest moments on the path.
